A Protocol For World Peace

The existence of The Protocol rests on the assumption that the secret to world peace has not yet been discovered, but is in fact pattern of ideas, and that this pattern is concealed, in whole or in part, in texts of prose and poetry arbitrarily chosen from the millions of available samples written in any of the world’s languages between about CE 1680 and 2000.

The words of this process themselves are conceived of as data for the purpose of analysis; and it follows that since the conceived data array is also of a portion significantly large, the analytic methods to be followed must necessarily involve some form of programmable computerization.

The collection of texts was begun on January 1, 2000, and the finishing work on the final portion of this effort —the Five Governing Protocol Indices (World Introduction , World Table of Contents , World Authors , World Bibliography , and World Archives )—was completed two weeks prior to its official due date (Christmas Day, 2017). (For those interested, between the middle of December and St. Patrick’s Day, 2018, a catalogue of the Library from which much of this array was abstracted has been prepared.)

My part in all this has been to establish the initial sequence of events having to do with the collection of the data itself, setting parameters for the collection of this data in time and space, and determining the nature of its authorship—everything except designing the programs suitable for its execution (which is well beyond my powers).

If any of you are computer programmers, and believe it possible to design a software methodology that could discover the answer to world peace through linguistic analysis, please do not hesitate to make use of the enclosed literature of the World Table of Contents and available in the files accompanying each country. All I ask of you is that you make your findings freely available to anyone involved in similar
research.

A more detailed explanation is available under World Introduction. I should add that all of this was done on my own bat, without the infrastructure of secretarial help, and thus the (probably numerous) grammatical errors, inherent in any literary adventure where one is working completely by oneself, are entirely my responsibility. To all of you, I remain,

With the greatest possible respect
